You may know him as Bernard on Westworld, but Jeffrey Wright’s acting chops go further back than just the HBO hit show. A talented actor, Jeffrey Wright is starring in an upcoming film, Hold the Dark.

Jeffrey Wright will play a retired wolf expert in Hold The Dark who is now on a trek to find a missing child. Having to search through the Alaskan wilderness, this Netflix film is sure to make you sit on the edge of your seat.

In a newly released trailer, we can get a feel for this movie and what we can expect. Wright will be lured in by locals to take on the case of a child who has disappeared and as he moves closer, he will find out not everything is as it seems.

Jeremy Saulnier is the filmmaker behind this Netflix original, who is noted as the same director who stepped out of True Detective season three after two episodes.

Jeffrey Wright is joined by Riley Keough and Alexander Skarsgard, who is the older brother of Wright’s Westworld season 2 co-star Gustaf Skarsgard. Wright delivered a stunning performance in the second season of Westworld, where we eventually found out that the reasoning behind the time jumps was due to Bernard scrambling his own memories.

Thankfully, Wright’s phenomenal performance in season 2 was recognized, as he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He is just one of many nominees from the hit HBO show, as Westworld led the nominations with 22 total. This beat out Game of Thrones, which had 21 and had dominated the Emmy’s in the past.

Hold the Dark premieres on Netflix September 28th.
