Westworld actress Shannon Woodward spoke out about the fandom following the show–and her frustrations with it.

As actors, you often know the outcome of the series you are involved in. However, with shows like Westworld, this may not always be the case. But in either case, the actors know way more than the fans about the ongoing story, but some fans don’t seem to think so.

More from Westworld

In an interview with Marie Claire, Shannon Woodward, who plays Elsie, talked about being bombarded by fans with their theories to an extent that they didn’t feel like she knew more than them.

"“Last year, I had a lot of people telling me their theories, and trying to convince me that they were right. I tried to be kind to them about it because I was so glad that they were enjoying the show, but at some point, it got to sound a lot like mansplaining. I was like, ‘You know I’ve read the scripts, right? I do know what happens and that’s not what happens.’”"

We can imagine how frustrating that may come to be, especially with the number of theories the Westworld fandom concocts after every episode. But this doesn’t mean Woodward knows about every single thing that is to come. In fact, her and Evan Rachel Wood often chime in with their own ideas and theories as to what may happen.

In fact, Woodward had no idea that Bernard was a host, and was kept in the dark by everyone including Jeffrey Wright regarding this plot twist. And with season two, the stakes were even higher so less information was shared with the cast about the script and plot.

As Woodward shared, the actors come into film scenes out of order and don’t really know where their scene falls in the context of the episode or even season. But whatever the case may be, she certainly knows more than we do!
