Fans have known since November that Westworld is premiering this spring, but a star of the show may have just confirmed which month.

Back in November 2017, Evan Rachel Wood confirmed that Westworld Season 2 would premiere this coming spring. Sadly, that was the only time frame she pinpointed. Fans tried to narrow down the release window, but at the end of the day, it was just conjecture. However, a star of Westworld may have just confirmed the release month on Instagram – and we couldn’t be more excited.

Jeffrey Wright plays Benard Lowe on Westworld, and his character played a huge role in the first season. One of the major twists revolved around his character; however, they’ve only explored a fraction of his character’s journey. Westworld Season 2 will likely focus heavily on Bernard, but as with many facets of the show, we don’t know how exactly.

Jeffrey Wright’s Instagram Post

Recently, Jefferey wright took to his Instagram account to share some Westworld fan art. While that might not seem that interesting, it’s what he said about Season 2 that piqued our interest. Here is Jeffrey Wright’s post, followed by the tantalizing caption that drops Season 2’s premiere month:

"“I’ve spent so much time inside #Westworld these past 6 months this feels like a self-portrait. 3 days of filming left, and then we’re circling back online in April….hard. #Trip Thanks”"

By all accounts, the phrase “circling back online in April” gives us Westworld Season 2’s release month. Sure, he used the show’s vernacular instead of saying “the show will premiere in April”, but it’s still a solid answer. This is great news for fans, because it means Season 2 will premiere earlier than expected. When Evan Rachel Wood first said the show would come back in the spring, many feared that it would be in May or June.

Now that we know Westworld  could possibly return in April, we only need an exact date. Fans have waited over a year for the next season, but, now, it seems that we only have 3 months until it premieres. Hopefully, Jeffrey Wright was correct, because April seems like the perfect month for Season 2 to premiere.

Update: After this article was published, Jeffrey Wright has edited his post to say “Spring” instead of “April”.
