Which actors are coming back to Westworld Season 2?

The first season of Westworld broke HBO’s record for most viewerships by an original show in it’s freshman year. With all the hype and buzz after HBO released the trailer for Westworld Season 2, we already know some of the main characters are coming back: Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright and Thandie Newton.

What about some of the other actors that glued us to our seats as we watched the fate of Westwworld and Delos unfold? Here’s what we know so far:

1. Jimmi Simpson (Young William) Is Back In Westworld Season 2

In one of the biggest twists, we watched the passive young William turn into the cold-as-steel gunslinger the Man In Black. Some fans were wondering if Jimmi Simpson would make an appearance in season two. Well, one fan asked Simpson on Twitter, and this was his reply:

It looks like there is more to the mystery of the Man In Black, and we are going to find out just what happened. My guess is we’ll see how William starts to take control of Delos and gets his fancy bulletproof vest.

2. Ben Barnes (Logan)

If Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are going to delve deeper into the story of the Man In Black, it only makes sense that they bring back Logan (Barnes). He’s the one that opened up the naive eyes of William in the first place.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Barnes confirmed his appearance in Westworld Season 2, “I definitely have heard because I can tell you that I have been on set at least once already.”

3. Luke Hemsworth (Ashley Stubbs)

What about the fate of the third Hemsworth brother? The last we saw of him he was dealing with a messed up member of Ghost Nation, but never appeared in the season finale. Did the head of security go missing like his partner Elsie?

In an interview with The Huffington Post about his return this is what Hemsworth had to say about Westworld Season 2:

"“Physically? He’s well. He’s doing all right. Just taking a sabbatical. Its strength is its secrecy. A, I wouldn’t tell you if I did know. B, I literally don’t know.”"

As a result of this interview, it looks like Luke Hemsworth’s character is still up in the air.

4. Anthony Hopkins (Robert Ford) In The House?

What about the fate of the master craftsman himself? Did we watch Delores kill the real Robert Ford? Or was this just a host to fool everyone? Before Ford’s big speech in the finale of season 1, we did see a new host being dipped into the white batter.

The only hint that we do know is from Jonathan Nolan’s interview with Variety:

"“I think the sacrifice he makes at the end of the first season is very real. I think there will be an opportunity to explore a little bit more of the backstory of how this park came to be, a little more of that story. We’ll see the character’s presence will be felt in that sense in terms of filling in a few more of the gaps about the early history of this place.”"

Nolan and Lisa Joy are doing their best keep the script from leaking out. That’s why it makes sense they use such cryptic language. They don’t want the Redditors spilling the beans because of what happened during the first season.

At least we know for sure Ben Barnes and Jimmi Simpson are coming back. It sounds like they will continue to explore and expand the history of the Man In Black. And maybe provide us with more insight the Maze and the what plans Delos has in store for Westworld.
