HBO has released a video preview for Westworld episode 9 “The Well-Tempered Clavier.”

WARNING: THIS ARTICLE AND VIDEO MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR WESTWORLD EPISODE 9.

The Well-Tempered Clavier is a collection of solo keyboard preludes and fugues composed by  Johann Sebastian Bach, it’s also the title of Westworld episode 9.

Wikipedia has this to say about the preludes in The Well-Tempered Clavier…

"The preludes are also notable for their odd or irregular numbers of measures, in terms of both the phrases and the total number of measures in a given prelude."

And this to say about the fugues…

"The fugues employ a full range of contrapuntal devices, but are generally more compact than Bach’s fugues for organ."

We know that music has played a big role in Westworld, but we saw it in even more compelling action this past week. Ford used music to calm Maeve, a trick he said he learned from an old friend. Could it be that music and multiple voices will play a bigger role in Westworld episode 9?

Things appear to be going from bad to worse for William and Dolores. There’s no doubt that something horrible is coming and that their story isn’t going to have that lovely neat happy ending.

Meanwhile it looks like there might be an alliance of some kind between Maeve and Bernard. Maeve’s revolution would take a big step if she got the help of Bernard.

We still don’t know what’s going on with Ford though, what are the intentions of the park’s mysterious and manipulative leader? With only two episodes left things I have a feeling things are about to get even more intense.
