SPOILER WARNING: THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE MIGHT CONTAIN WESTWORLD SPOILERS.

The most popular theory about Westworld is the Westworld two timelines theory. The basic premise of the theory is that we are being shown the story of Westworld, but with the pieces out of order. The Westworld two timelines theory hinges on the man in black, Teddy, Maeve, and most of the park employees being in a timeline set thirty years after William and Logan enter the park.

This theory is of course deeply intertwined with the theory that William and the man in black are the same person. The idea is that William is on his first trip to Westworld with Logan, and the man in black scenes are from his final trip to Westworld.

The theory might sound crazy and far fetched but there’s actually a lot of evidence to back it up. This fantastic video from The Outline lays out many of the clues that are leading people to the Westworld two timelines theory.

That was a great recap of all the evidence and it even contained a few things I hadn’t noticed. I hadn’t paid any attention to the condensed milk can. That’s someone who either has a good eye or is even more obsessed with Westworld than I am, and that’s saying something.

They of course didn’t touch on everything in the video, you really can’t do that in an internet video. Things like the wanted posters being different and a few other minor things. Finding all the small clues in Westworld is half the fun. It’s like Ford tells Sizemore when turning down his garish new narrative, people come for the details.
